Alberto Reyes Garza

THREE RIVERS – Alberto R. Garza, 80, died on April 22, 2018. He was born on May 24, 1937 in Three Rivers, Texas to the late Eulalio and Rufina (Reyes) Garza. He married Elida Moreitti on June 4, 1963 in George West, Texas. He was a retired truck driver.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Enrique, Arturo, Rey, Avelino, and Eulalio Garza, Jr. and three sisters, Josephina Rodriguez, Maria Garza, and Margarita Salazar and one grandson, Anthony Alberto Ponce.

     He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elida Garza, four daughters, Denise (Robert) Crawley of Beach City, TX, Christina (Jerry) Gutierrez of San Antonio, TX, Diana Garza of Las Vegas, NV, Blanca Garza of San Diego, CA, and son Gene Garza of Tuscon, AZ. Two sisters, Lupita (Lionel) Castillo of Katy, TX and Elizabeth (Patrick) Ryan of Kalispell, MT. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

     Visitation will be at the Gurwitz Center in Three Rivers, TX on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 4-8pm. A rosary will be recited there at 7pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers, TX with Fr. George Johnson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers are Julian Garza, Brandon Castaneda, Garrett Landriault, Roland Salazar, Arnold Salazar, and Jose Aguero.
